In search of lost souls, Godiva stands as a powerhouse of symphonic death metal, known for their electrifying blend of orchestral grandeur and extreme metal intensity. Their journey began with a riveting performance at Laurus Nobilis Music Fest, followed by unforgettable shows at Vagos Metal Fest and Hard Rock Café Porto, where a dynamic live orchestra elevated their sound.
Undeterred by the challenges of the COVID-19 era, Godiva’s popularity soared with sold-out concerts at Lisbon’s RCA Club and Laurus Nobilis Hangover Festival, as well as a commanding appearance at Riverstone Metal Festival.
In 2023, the band released the acclaimed singles “The Meaning of Life” and “Media God,” and embarked on a major European tour to promote their latest album, “Hubris,” with standout performances across France, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Spain, and the UK—including festival highlights at Ostrava v Plamenech and Rock n Iasi.
2024 and 2025 ushered in a new era for Godiva, marked by sold-out shows in Albania, extensive tours through Eastern Europe, and appearances at renowned festivals such as Master of Rock and Pannonian Festival. The band’s evolution continued with the arrival of Italian drummer Gemma Sofia Salvatori, who debuted in Portugal at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo in June 2025, bringing fresh energy and technical prowess to their sound.
As Godiva enters the final phase of promoting “Hubris,” they are already immersed in the creative process for their next album, determined to push the boundaries of melodic death metal. Their relentless drive for innovation and growth cements Godiva’s reputation as one of Portugal’s most internationally recognized and forward-thinking metal acts.
